The Blackbird Hotel is a thoughtfully designed, boutique property located in New Orleans’ Lower Garden District, just minutes from the French Quarter and Uptown. Surrounded by historic homes and oak-lined streets, the hotel offers a quieter, more residential feel while keeping you close to everything the city has to offer.
We’re set in the Lower Garden District, a quiet stretch between Uptown grandeur and the hum of the French Quarter. We’re just steps from Magazine Street—lined with boutiques, cafes, and art galleries—and just around the corner from St. Charles Avenue, the city’s main thoroughfare, where vintage streetcars carry you through oak-lined neighborhoods and into every vibrant corner of town.
Designed by local talent Jeannine Jacob, The Blackbird Hotel embodies its name with a striking black exterior and is exquisitely and artfully crafted to evoke intimacy, intrigue, and intent. Much like the classic estates found within the Garden District, each of the 13 guestrooms is unique, layered in tone, texture, and curated restraint – all while reflecting the eccentric heartbeat of New Orleans.
Just across the street, our sister property, The Garden District Hotel, offers another take on New Orleans hospitality: gracious, grounded, and impeccably designed. Guests are welcome to visit the Garden Bar, a serene, softly lit escape offering excellent cocktails and charm in abundance. Pool access remains exclusive to each hotel, but the spirit of hospitality flows both ways.
